So,what exactly is social media marketing

Social Media marketing simply means leveraging social media platforms to achieve your marketing goals.

These goals can include

  • Attention
  • Engagement
  • Lead Generation
  • & Various Other

And these goals are achieved by brands by involving themselves in social media activities like sharing content, video, images and communicating with your prospects & customers on social media platforms.

So for making things clearer for you I would like to tell you that there are only two Categories of social media channels in which all the major social media platforms can be divided:-

The First one are the Seekers Channels

Seeker Channels refer to those where user come to seek information. Users tend to consume content on such media channels. Examples of seekers channels can be YouTube, Pinterest, Vimeo and so on.

These channels are best suited-

  • When you need to aware your prospect about your products or services
  • When you are looking to sell your products or services

The Second One are the Engagement Channels

Engagement Channels Refer to those Channels where user come to engage with others. Users tend to consume the short form of content on these channels. Examples of engagement channels can be Facebook, twitter, linked in and so on.

These Channels are best suited-

  • For networking with your customers or prospects
  • For your brand awareness
  • For listening to the queries of your prospects or customers

There is also an interesting Hybrids channel known as Instagram which shares the features of both Seeker as well as Engagement Channels.
